Prolonged sitting has a negative impact on our physiology. From shortening hip flexors, tightening of glutes and lower back muscles it can lead to all sort of minor mobility issues. 

If you do squats in the gym, you’ll understand what I mean. Being office based, and a computer user, I sit at my desk most days for 6 to 7 hours. I also drive to and from my work in Cork. When I get home, my wife often hands me the kids – and then I sit some more! 

So on the occasions when I do get to the gym, I used to really suffer with pain in the front of my hip – especially when lifting heavy weights. This all began to change when I started to consciously avoid sitting down at work, thanks to height adjustable office furniture. 

The Height Adjustable Office – or Home Office

When we started selling Electric and Manual Height adjustable frames for office desks, PC desks etc, my interest was piqued. So I converted my own at work and now I also have one in my home office, with a beautiful Danish oak finish. 

It’s been 6 months since I started working with my height adjustable table. I’m squatting 15kg more and my hip mobility is much improved – I’m definitely a convert!
